Custom builds, but for websites
Historic DeLand: a custom website build sheet
At One Computer Outlet a custom PC starts from what the owner needs, and the Historic DeLand site was approached the same way.
The build for a community local-history project for DeLand centered on a source-backed archive with landmark pages, historic districts and self-guided walking tours.
The Historic DeLand build it replaced
Old captures of historicdeland.com are archived but would not render cleanly, so the build sheet pictures only the finished Historic DeLand site.
The finished Historic DeLand build
The finished configuration gives the client a source-backed archive with landmark pages, historic districts and self-guided walking tours.
Front and center on the new build sits the headline “Historic DeLand — The Athens of Florida”.
Its component list, as seen in the menu, runs Businesses, Events, Tours, Places, Timeline.
Why a custom PC shop builds websites this way
Off-the-shelf parts rarely fit a demanding owner, and an off-the-shelf template would not have fit Historic DeLand either.
